The Kauri Coast
Jen and Don have created in just a few years a unique garden around their house in New Zealand's tropical North Island on the Kauri Coast.
The nearby town of Dargaville, nestled on the banks of the Northern Wairoa River, was a former frontier settlement. Visit the wonderful Dargaville Museum, fascinating Zizania Mill, Big River Art Gallery and a Kauri Gallery.
To the south of Dargaville is the Kaipara Harbour which is home to many renowned shipwrecks and the historic Kaipara Lighthouse. To the north is the beautiful Kai Iwi Lakes, Trounson Kauri Park Mainland Island and the Waipoua Kauri Forest.
